Didactic Laboratories

  • Laboratory of chemical analyses
The laboratory allows the students to acquire the first knowledge on volumetric and gas-volumetric titrations, on potentiometric and spectrophotometric measurements as well as information on the classification of agricultural soils and quality control.
In particular, laboratory practical of Chemistry, Agricultural Chemistry, Agricultural Microbiology, Genetics, Biochemistry and Enology will be carried out.

  • Didactic laboratory of Microscopy and Macroscopy
The didactic laboratory of microscopy and macroscopy is important for the comprehension of the basic biology. The laboratory is provided with 25 microscopes and 25 stereoscopes under which students can examine specimens or ready slides and whole plant (mainly vascular plants) or animals (mainly invertebrates) and plant components (i.e. leaves, fruits, seeds, wood ).
Usually, after the examinations, students are requested to drawn the microscopic characteristics in order to carefully observe the different parts of each specimen.
The laboratory is utilised for the practical of Cell Biology, Botany, Microbiology, Zoology, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Herbaceous Crops, Forest control.

  • Sensory analysis laboratory
The sensory analysis laboratory was created with the aim to train the students to a deeper evaluation of the food quality. The sensory methodologies, coupled with the instrumental analytical techniques can be a helpful parameter for the description of the food product; namely, the education to the nutritional quality of food implies the knowledge of the relationships among the chemical composition and its effects on the sensory perceptions.
The workshops take in account both the major and the minor components of a food product, which play a fundamental role in the determination of the colour, the taste, the aroma and the physical mechanical effects, due to the well known structure activity relationships (SAR).
The main internationally-recognized procedures and apparatus for the sensory evaluation are described in order to provide a useful competence in the future professional career of the students.

  • The interfaculty Physics Laboratory
The interfaculty Physics Laboratory for tutorials was created with the collaboration of the Faculties of Agricuoltural Sciences, Medicine and Science of the University "Politecnica delle Marche". It consists of 4 independent working places and then can host more grorups of students at the same time. The available scientific equipments, continuoslycontinuously updated by the Faculties, allow to perform simple experiments in order to experimentally verify few fundamental Physics laws. With the available equipment one can perform experiments in mechanics (with a particular attention to the physics of fluids and of the vacuum), thermodynamics and electricity. Detailed instructions for the students concerning the guidelines for each experiment are also available; each student can then perform his/her own experiment with these instructions, but also with the teacher support ready to help during the tutorial. The experimental data obtained are then discussed on the basis of the physics laws explained during the theoretical lectures of the course PHYSICS. The interfaculty Physics laboratory for tutorials plays a role of primary importance in learning Physics having the student an active role in the study; this is mainly due to the direct and simple approach for the tutorial work.
